What to expect within a Shadow Work Session

Shadow Work sessions typically last between three and five hours, though the core process remains the same regardless of length.

We begin by clarifying what you want from the session. We take time to understand your intention fully, ensuring the work is guided by what truly matters to you. We’ll also explore relevant personal history and experiences so that the process is both safe and supportive.

The experiential work takes place on a rug that represents your inner world. Using coloured cloths, you’ll symbolically represent different parts of yourself connected to the issue you’re exploring. You’ll have the opportunity to step into each part, embody it, and give it a voice — allowing us to understand it more deeply. From there, you can step back and observe your internal system with greater clarity.

We can also represent important people, organisations, or influences in your inner world, exploring how they interact with your different parts.

Once your inner landscape is visible, we identify what needs to shift in order for you to experience the change you’re seeking. You are supported to consciously create those shifts, often resulting in a profound internal “rewiring.” As your inner world changes, your outer experience begins to shift too.

In workshops, the same process unfolds within a group setting. Other participants may step in to represent parts of your inner world, creating a powerful, embodied experience. Time is taken to build safety and connection within the group, ensuring you feel supported throughout the process.

Whether individually or in a workshop, Shadow Work is a deeply experiential path toward integration and lasting change.
